THANK YOU FOR ATTENDING THE FIRST YEAR OF THE FERRY PARK SUMMER MARKET! WE’LL SEE YOU AGAIN IN 2026.

This summer, in partnership with Henry Ford Health, NW Goldberg Cares, Eastern Market, the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services, and Imma’s, Mezuzah hosted the inaugural Ferry Park Summer Market.

The Ferry Park Summer Market was open each Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at CURTIS JONES PARK, with each market featuring different activities, vendors, and experiences. The weekly mainstays were Mezuzah, Eastern Market, and Henry Ford Health, with other vendors rotating throughout the summer.

This program was made possible by a collaborative grant from Henry Ford Health and NW Goldberg Cares through Healthy Community Zones, administered by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

Accessibility: Free Vendors, Healthy Food, and Physical Health

The Ferry Park Summer Market was born out of a discussion around community engagement initiatives for Imma’s, a micro-market opening in NW Goldberg in 2026. The goal was to create opportunities for feedback from neighbors through experiences that would be similar to having a neighborhood market: offering fresh produce, providing accessible payment options, and being centrally located.

Each market featured a farm stand provided by Eastern Market, with a wide array of fresh fruits and vegetables not otherwise offered in the neighborhood, a free healthy snack sample provided by Henry Ford Health, a free arts and crafts activity, a free healthy snack or beverage, and a free health and wellness activity.

Throughout the eight weeks, free vendors included 3Days Juice, which offered fresh-pressed juice (usually $9/bottle), Detroit Smoothie Spot, which offered fresh-pressed juice and fresh smoothies (usually $6-$10/bottle), and JB’s Ice Pops, which offered all-natural ingredient ice pops (usually $4/pop).

The health and wellness activities also varied throughout the summer. Verlycia Dixon offered yoga, Alyssa Williams led Slow Flow Yoga, Coach Ty Eldridge led full body workouts (similar to Pilates), and Urban Solace Detroit rounded us out with yoga and wellness activities.

Small Businesses

The Ferry Park Summer Market featured vendors ranging from food to floral, clothing to coffee, and accessories to aromatics. All vendors were reviewed and accepted through an application process in the late spring. Check them out below!

See You Next Year!

After a successful run from June 17th through August 12th, with only one date canceled due to a heat warning from the Governor’s Office, the Ferry Park Summer Market will return in 2026. Tentative market dates are June 16th through September 1st.
